The kit is designed to isolate total (genomic, mitochondrial, and viral) DNA from biological samples using spin columns. The kit includes all the necessary components. First, cell lysis is performed using Lysis Solution BB, and Proteinase K. Lysis Solution BB allows selective DNA binding to the membrane in the column. In the following step, a series of washings of bound DNA is performed. Special formulations of Washing Solutions allow impurities to be completely removed from the column membrane. Finally, the genomic DNA is eluted with Elution Buffer or, if necessary, with deionized water.

Kit Specifications:

  • Samples: whole blood, buccal swabs, leukocytes, cultured mammalian cells
  • Operation time: 30 minutes
  • Column binding capacity: 20 µg DNA
  • DNA typical yield: whole blood (100 µL) – 1–3 µg, buccal swab – 0.5–2 µg, cultured cells (1 × 106) – 3–6 µg
  • DNA quality: 30–50 kb in size, OD 260/280 1.7–1.8

The isolated DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, Southern blotting, preparing samples for Sanger sequencing and NGS, etc.
