The QuDye^® RNA BR Green Assay Kit is designed to measure a broad range of RNA concentrations on any type of fluorimeter. The kit consists of green fluorescent dye Ribo488, which is selective for RNA, so DNA, single-stranded DNA, nucleotides, and proteins do not affect the measurement results. Other impurities in small quantities, such as salts, detergents, and solvents, also have an insignificant effect on the measurement results.

The kit includes 200× Ribo488 dye concentrate, a buffer for preparing a working dye solution, and RNA concentration standards (0 and 100 ng/µL).

This kit provides a convenient way to measure RNA in a wide concentration range — from 100 pg/µL to 1000 ng/µL for the sample (the RNA amount for measurement on the fluorimeter is 2–1000 ng RNA in 200 µL of the sample). A small sample volume (1–20 µL) is required for assay performance. All measurements are carried out at room temperature and take, on average, 15–20 minutes (depending on the number of samples). The fluorescence of the samples is stable for 3 hours.

To measure RNA concentration, prepare a working dye solution, dilute RNA concentration standards and experimental samples in separate tubes, and measure the fluorescence intensity on the fluorimeter. For convenience, the kit includes thin-walled tubes compatible with the fluorimeter.

To determine protein impurities in an RNA sample, the QuDye^® Protein Quantification Kit is recommended.
