Alkyne-PEG3-iodide (or Iodo-PEG3-alkyne) is a hydrophilic bifunctional PEG derivative for the alkylation of nucleophilic groups and copper-catalyzed click chemistry. As compared with chloride and bromide, iodide is the halogen group that is the most active in alkylation reactions.
